Leveling Up the Philippine Game Industry: GDAP and DTI Formalize Partnership with Landmark MOU

MAKATI CITY, Philippines — In a monumental step forward for the local gaming ecosystem, the Game Developers Association of the Philippines (GDAP) has officially formalized its long-standing alliance with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). On March 9, 2026, leaders from both organizations gathered for a milestone Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony, locking in a shared vision to elevate Filipino game development onto the global stage.

As the country’s leading trade association for video game development, GDAP represents over 130 members—spanning studios, independent developers, and academic institutions. For years, we have championed the immense talent of Filipino creators. This official partnership with the DTI, through its Philippine Creative Industries Development Council (PCIDC) Secretariat, marks a powerful chapter in scaling up our efforts.

The signing ceremony brought together key visionaries dedicated to building a globally competitive gaming ecosystem. GDAP President James Ronald H. Lo and the GDAP team represented the industry’s voice, while DTI Assistant Secretary Nylah Rizza D. Bautista and Deputy Executive Director Paolo Federico A. Ramos spearheaded the government’s commitment to the creative economy.

This partnership is more than just paper and signatures—it’s a launchpad. With the government and the private sector aligned, GDAP is more equipped than ever to empower our 130+ members and ensure that the future of game development is proudly Filipino.
