GDAP and CITEM team up to boost PH GameDev Industry

The Game Developers Association of the Philippines – GDAP met with the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM) on April 3, 2025 to officially sign their partnership for the Philippine GameDev Expo 2025. As the export promotion arm of the Department Of Trade And Industry (DTI), CITEM is set to co-organize the event by leading promotional efforts, handling buyer campaigns, supporting venue logistics, and facilitating business matching opportunities throughout the three-day expo. GDAP President James Lo highlighted the importance of government support in opening doors for local game developers, especially small studios aiming to break into the global gaming scene.

Now on its third physical run, Philippine GameDev Expo is the country’s largest and pioneering game developer expo, set to take place on July 25–27, 2025, at the SMX Convention Center Manila. With the Philippine gaming industry steadily growing—expected to hit $2.6 billion in revenue by 2027—the upcoming PGDX is positioned to elevate Filipino talent and innovation in front of both local and international industry leaders.

The meeting was attended by CITEM Executive Director Leah Pulido Ocampo, Creative Services Division Officer-in-Charge Katrina Ledesma-Muan, Project Officers Julian Torralba, Vea Santos, and Sophie Gomez. Representing GDAP were President James Ronald Lo, Board Member Walter Manalo, and CBZN Corporation Chief Partnership Officer and PGDX Co-Organizer Joebert Yu.
